Gladys Mugambi is a seasoned public health professional with over 20 years of experience in the health sector. Gladys Mugambi is a highly accomplished nutrition and health systems management professional with extensive experience in policy formulation, advocacy, communication, and resource mobilization. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Health Systems Management at Kenya Methodist University, has an MSc in Foods, Nutrition, and Dietetics from Kenyatta University and a BSc in Home Economics from the University of Eastern Africa Baraton.

Gladys has held various leadership positions in the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation in Kenya, including Head of the Division of Health Promotion, Head of Nutrition and Dietetics Unit, Scaling up Nutrition Focal Point, HIV Nutrition Officer, and National Food Fortification Project Manager. In these positions, she was responsible for coordinating various nutrition programs, developing and implementing policies, mobilizing resources, conducting advocacy and communication, and linking national nutrition work with global organizations and other countries.

Gladys has achieved numerous milestones in her career, including signing off on 15 policies and guidelines on nutrition, mobilizing resources for various programs within the Nutrition and Dietetics Unit, strengthening the National Food Fortification Alliance, revising standards for flour and oil to include fortification, developing and approving the food fortification logo, and making mandatory flour and oil fortification through amendment of the Food Drugs and Chemical Substance Act. She has also been involved in capacity building of the food fortification laboratory staff and procurement of equipment for testing done for KEBS and National Food Laboratory.
